CENTER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION

Advanced Certificate Programs
in Economic Development

The Center for Economic Development Education at the UALR Institute for Economic Advancement (IEA) offers Advanced Certificates in several concentrated specialties. Advanced certificates require 8 credits and completion of an exercise and/or an exam. The credits earned toward an Advance Certificate may be applied toward completion of the Mid-South Basic Economic Development Professional designation, which requires 18 credits and an exam for completion. At the present time, these programs are not for academic credit. However, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for short courses in these professional curricula.

Candidates for an Advanced Certificate are strongly encouraged to take the Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course (or another Basic Course or its equivalent) in addition to the required 8 hour curriculum.
