Economic Impact of Volunteers

The eight hundred seventy-seven (877) organizations that responded to the questionnaire regarding the contributions of their volunteers reported a total of 19,062,664 hours for an estimated dollar value of $414,678,410. Had these services required payment an additional $8,264,642,854 of income would have been necessary. That represents an increase of 10.4 percent in needed personal income.
