2008 Economic Impact of Arkansas Volunteers
Volunteer Service in Arkansas
Volunteerism in Arkansas plays
an important role in the state’s effort
to meet the needs of her citizens.
The impact of volunteer service is felt
throughout the state in terms of monetary
value and the availability of services offered
by organizations.
The survey and publication of The Economic
Impact of Arkansas Volunteers began
in 1983 by the Department of Human
Services Division of Volunteerism (DOV).
The information obtained from the survey
is compiled and published annually in
collaboration with the University of Arkansas
at Little Rock (UALR) Institute for Economic
Advancement. The findings from the 2008
study are presented in this publication.
